Ampere (amp)

The ampere (amp) is a unit that measures the flow of electricity, similar to how water flow through a pipe is measured. In this analogy, the electric current (amps) is like the amount of water flowing through the pipe. If more water flows through the pipe, it represents a higher current, just like a larger number of amps indicates a stronger flow of electricity in a circuit.

For example, a small pipe (like a phone charger) might carry a flow of 2 amps, while a larger pipe (like a home circuit) might handle 10 to 30 amps. This comparison helps show how amps measure how much electricity is moving, just like water flow measures how much water is moving.
